ARRIVE IN DAKAR, SENEGAL
International flight arrives Dakar. You are met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Day at leisure to relax and refresh.
Day 2:
DAKAR
Today go on a tour of Metropolitan Dakar. Visit the colorful markets including Tilen Market, famous for a variety of medicinal herbs and traditional healers. Visit the National Art Gallery and the picturesque district of Medina.
Day 3:
GOREE ISLAND
This morning visit the world Heritage Site of Goree Island. Tour includes a visit to the ethnographic museum and a lecture by the curator on the history of Goree Island. Meal(s) Included:
Day 4:
DAKAR/ST LOUIS
A tour of Pink Lake, a rare natural phenomena caused by a unique combination of microorganism and high concentration of salts which gives the lake its pink color. Interact with the “Salt Harvesters” This afternoon continue to St. Louis, Senegal’s former French Colonial Capital.
Day 5:
ST LOUIS
Tour of St. Louis, the former colonial capital of Senegal which still has the appearance of an old provincial town – circa 1800’s. Explore the narrow streets flanked by houses with carved wooden balconies and verandas.
Day 6:
NATIONAL BIRD SANCTUARY/DAKAR
Today enroute to Dakar, visit the National Bird Sanctuary which has a vast array of birds including pelicans, ducks, flamingoes among others. Continue to Dakar for dinner and overnight.
Day 7:
DEPARTURE HOME
